4 pears, small to medium size, firmly ripe
1/4 cup craisens
3 tablespoons chopped walnuts
2 tablesspoon sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup dark maple syrup

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Peel the pears and leave the stems on. Core the pears on the bottom end removing the seeds and creating a cavity. Check to make sure the pears stand upright. If not, cut a tiny amount off the bottom. Mix the craisens, walnuts, sugar and lemon juice in a small bowl. Fill each cavity with the filling. Place the pears upright in the baking dish. Add the water. Spoon the maple syrup over the pears. Cover with a lid or foil.
Bake for one hour. Every 20 minutes or so spoon the liquid over the pears. Bake until you can pierce the pears.
Spoon the syrup over the cooling pears. Place one pear on a dessert plate. Squirt whipped cream in front and add a few cut strawberries for decoration. Squirt whipped cream around the stem and add mint leaves.
