Swedish Breakfast Pastry

Description:
Makes a festive Holiday presentation for special guests.

Ingredients:
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 cup butter
2 Tbsp. water

1 cup water & 1/4 c. sugar & 1/2 c. butter
1 cup flour
3 eggs
1 tsp. almond flavoring.

White confectioner's frosting flavored with almond.
Sliced almonds or chopped maraschino cherries or colored sugar

Directions:
Mix as for pie crust & spread on cookie sheet (jelly roll pan)in 2 long narrow pieces or in 9 x 13 pan.
Boil 1 cup water & 1/4 c. sugar & 1/2 c. butter together.
Remove from heat & add 1 cup flour (quickly, so it doesn't lump)
Add 3 eggs, beating well after each. Add 1 tsp. almond flavoring.
Spread over 1st mixture. Bake.

Frost with white confectioner's frosting flavored with almond.
Decorate with sliced almonds or chopped maraschino cherries or colored sugar.
