Cranberry Bread

A family staple for Christmas morning, and a sweet treat for breakfast throughout the year!

1 whole orange
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tblsp. shortening
1 egg
1/2 cup orange juice
2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup cranberries
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Process 1 whole orange in food processor

Cream together sugar, brown sugar, and shortening. Add 1 egg and processed orange, plus orange juice. Stir in flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Fold in cranberries and walnuts.

Pour into greased 9"x5"x3" loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until cooked throughout. Cool, slice, and serve!
