Mucky Mouth Pie
Description:
An English woman once made a pie to serve at tea. While the pie cooled, someone ate several pieces. When she asked her children who had eaten the pie, no one confessed. Wisely, she looked at each one - the one with the mucky mouth was guilty, of course. Ingredients: 2 (9 inch) unbaked pie crusts 1 1/3 cups white sugar 1/3 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup fresh rhubarb, cut in 1" pieces 1 cup raspberries 1 cup fresh blueberries or blackberries 2 cups thinly sliced apples fresh mint, cut in tiny pieces powdered sugar for glaze Directions: Stir sugar & flour together in lg bowl. Add apples, raspberries, blue or blackberries, rhubarb & mint. Toss together, & turn into pie shell. Cover with pastry top. Trim & seal edges. Cut vents in top. Bake at 350 degrees F for approximately 45 min, until crust is brown, apple is cooked and filling is bubbling. Make a glace of powdered sugar & milk. Drizzle over pie & garnish with fresh mint. Makes 1 - 9" pie.
