Best Overnight Oven French Toast

When it's a hectic morning at the Inn, there's nothing easier than letting the oven do all the work! All the prep has been done the night before so we can tend to our guests (and drink coffee) while the delicious french toast bakes.

12 thick slices Challah bread
2 1/2 cup milk
2 Tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
8 eggs, beaten
1 Tbsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
maple syrup for drizzling

Night before:
Blend sugar, salt and cinnamon. add to eggs and blend well. Add mil and vanilla. Beat for one minute.

Dip bread until thoroughly soaked. Place in butter-greased 9x13 casserole dish. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate.

Day of:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Unwrap chilled bread and immediately pop into oven (putting a chilled pan into a hot oven could end up cracking glass pan)

Cut into squares, serve with butter and maple syrup or your choice of fresh berries.
