Gastonian Scone Mix
Ingredients:
4 c. flour 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 T. baking powder 1/2 lb. butter 1/2 c. heavy cream Directions: Combine all dry ingredients. Cube the butter and mix together with dry ingredients. Add the heavy cream and mix only until combined. Do not over mix. Roll out dough approximately 1 inch thick and cut with biscuit cutter and place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F. for about 5-10 minutes or until golden brown. For variety you may add your choice of chopped nuts, chopped dry fruit, poppy seed or coconut to the basic scone mix.
