2013Eastern Tennessee Bed and Breakfast on TV
CMT is premiering a new TV Show called Outsiders Inn, where a group of actors Maureen McCormick, Bobby Brown and Carnie Wilson actually run a fictional bed and breakfast in the Smoky Mountains of eastern Tennessee. Did you know that the name Tennessee came from a Spanish explorer, Captain Juan Pardo, who in 1567 passed through a Native American village name “Tanasqui” which was located near modern day Newport, the location of Christopher Place, where this TV show was filmed? ILoveInns would like to take you on a tour of some actual Tennessee bed and breakfasts so you can plan your own exploration.
Southern Appalachian Mountains Bed & Breakfast
Silver Keys is a cozy Tennessee bed and breakfast nestled in the Appalachian Mountains. Innkeepers Sylvia and Bernie not Maureen McCormick greet you with friendly Southern Hospitality. Their Mountain City inn is a great choice if you want a secluded and relaxed environment with plenty of nature walks and wildlife sightings on their 18 acres as well as the option to explore nearby Watauga Lake and Cherokee National Forest. Four rooms are available for guests and all include a full country breakfast each morning.
Rustic Luxury in Gatlinburg
Plush King beds, over-size lounge chairs, individual climate controls, private balconies and hot tubs provide luxurious value in this rustic mountain Eastern Tennessee bed and breakfast. Innkeepers Patrick and Sue said that when their Berry Springs Lodge bed and breakfast was built only 8 years ago in Gatlinburg it was with the purpose of having sumptuous amenities with a rustically designed warm décor. They serve a filling breakfast every morning before you head off for whatever adventure is planned for the day – biking a nature trail, exploring the Forbidden Caverns with waterfalls and natural chimneys, having fun at Dollywood, or simply enjoying the mountain views from a rocking chair on the porch. With so many choices, stay a few extra days and get to experience it all.
Historic Handmade Brick Home
Innkeepers Judy and Robert at Prospect Hill Bed & Breakfast note that it takes less than four hours to drive to their Mountain City, Tennessee location from half of the southern US states, yet it offers great weather, lots of fresh air, mountain views and the wonderful feeling you are very far away from the daily hustle and bustle of life. Enjoy this 5 bedroom bed and breakfast which is an 1889 Victorian shingle-style home made out of hand-made bricks and totally renovated by the innkeepers, so you have all the modern day comforts, including wireless Internet access.
