2013A Perfect Day in Snowflake, Arizona
Written By: Craig & JoAnne Guderian of the Osmer D. Heritage Inn
The first thing we noticed about Snowflake is that it doesn’t seem like a typical Arizona town. There is a definite English influence … houses built representing Victorian England? Hmm, curiosity gets the better of us. Snowflake, it must snow here, but ‘no’ the town is named after a Mr. Snow and a Mr. Flake; we definitely need to discover more! What shall we do today? Shall we just relax in the beautiful gardens of the Heritage Inn, read a good book while swinging in the hammock under the apple tree? Shall we take a tour of the 5 historical homes that are available to be seen? Shall we take a ride to go and see the Petroglyphs and the Petrified Forest? Or take a hike along the banks of the Silver Creek? Did we bring our fishing poles? I hear there are trout to be caught. The antique shops are beckoning as too are the birds and wildlife. Honey did you bring our clubs? I hear the Heritage Inn has an exclusive offer at one of the private courses in Show Low. I wonder if we should go for a trail ride on horseback or get some exercise today on our own two feet, I hear there are miles and miles of trails to hike. Back to our original idea, let’s relax at the B&B and do all of this tomorrow!
