Liberty Hill Farm in Rochester, VT, is a working dairy farm. Rates are based on the number and age of each guest so families can economically enjoy breakfast, dinner, lodging, and all farm. With 270 heads of cattle on site, the inn loves when guests help with bottle-feeding calves or milking cows. One of the guest rooms boasts five single beds so everyone can get a good night sleep after swimming, tubing, mountain biking, or fishing. You’ll want to stay multiple days at Black Range Lodge in Kingston, NM, so kids can try all of the activities available to them: play tag on the large lawn, jump and tumble on the ground-mounted trampoline, encourage a little friendly competition in the free game room, read a story off the dedicated children’s book shelf, explore the hobbit house and tree house, or interact with the friendly cat, dog, and chickens. The new Applewood Cottage boasts two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, and two porches. Kids and adults can play in the full-size in-ground pool during the day then grill up some dinner on the poolside gas grill at night.
The Heavenly Valley Lodge in South Lake Tahoe, CA, is a year-round destination below world-famous ski slopes and half-a-mile from Lake Tahoe. The inn features 12 cabin-style suites; two boast a queen bed and a bunk bed just right for families. Families can take advantage of special rates on rooms and horseback riding when they visit the inn Sunday through Thursday.
