2013A Perfect Day in Bar Harbor
By Cottage By The Sea Innkeepers Carolyn and Lyman “Buck” Buckmin
Begin Your Day…
Breakfast, served at 8:30 in our dining room at your own table, is an experience. It begins with a fresh fruit salad and our own blend of juices. The main course can be either sweet or savory with sides ranging from home fries to fresh fruits to asparagus with hollandaise sauce.
Embark on a trip through breathtaking Acadia National Park, guided by a CD in your own car (CD provided at park entrance). The guided tour will include bird watching, spectacular views, sights and sounds that will never be forgotten.
While exploring Acadia National Park, stop at Jordan Pond House and taste their famous popovers, seafood chowder, and fresh squeezed raspberry lemonade.
Drive to the top of Cadillac Mountain overlooking miles of ocean and islands below before returning to the bed and breakfast.
End you day in Bar Harbor with a moonlight kayaking tour or romantic sunset sailing cruise aboard the Rachel B. Jackson, a magnificent 67-foot schooner. The sailing cruise will provide you with spectacular views of Acadia National Park and Maine‘s most picturesque islands & lighthouses.
End your day of exploring by dining at the Lobster Pot to select and savor a complete lobster dinner with steamed clams and corn on the cob. For desert, don’t forget Maine Blueberry Pie with a dab of ice cream!
Back to Cottage by the Sea in Hancock. There you will be in for a quiet night on downy pillow toppers in the cool night air.
