2014Red Chair Soaks in the Sun at Avalon Hotel on Catalina Island
The Avalon Hotel in Avalon, California is the newest recipient of the well-traveled Red Chair.
Affectionately known as Red, the chair has been traveling across the country since 2012. He
is sure to enjoy the ocean and harbor views offered by the Avalon. His most recent stops
include Casa Laguna Inn & Spa in Laguna Beach, Calif., where he performed onstage at the Laguna
Playhouse; Hillcrest House Bed & Breakfast in San Diego which treated him with a trip to
the famed San Diego Zoo; and The 1906 Lodge at Coronado Beach in Coronado, Calif., where he
met with the town’s mayor.
Red’s trip to Catalina Island has been spectacular. He arrived via helicopter and rode to his
luxurious accommodations at The Avalon via golf cart. He has visited the iconic Catalina Casino
and sat beside palm trees as he overlooks the crystal clear Pacific Ocean. He is contemplating
the island’s beautiful Casino and thinking about entering the regatta in the Annual Flying Fish Festival and innkeeper, Kathleen Gosselin says, “He’s looking for fishing buddies to join in the fun event.”

Santa Monica Mountains hosted by The Malibu Bella Vista in Calabasas, Calif., and the coastal
town of Santa Barbara hosted by Cheshire Cat Inn.
