Don't ask--cause we're not tellin! It's a secret recipe not supposed to be shared Ingredients: Cake: 1/2 cup butter 1 cup buttermilk, divided 4 eggs 4 TBS cocoa 2 cups sugar 4 TBS red food coloring 1 tsp. soda 1/2 cup shortening 1 tsp. vanilla 2 1/2 cups flour 1/4 tsp. salt Frosting: 1 Box powdered sugar 4 TBS whipping cream 1 cup margarine, soft 1/2 cup shredded coconut 1 tsp. Vanilla Red food Color Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour three 9-inch cake pans. Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Combine flour, soda, salt and cocoa and gradually add to butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk. Add vanilla and food coloring and blend well. Pour into prepared pans and bake 25-30 minutes. Cool and frost. Frosting: Blend powdered sugar, margarine, vanilla and whipping cream with mixer until smooth and fluffy. Additional cream may be needed to achieve fluffy consistency.
