Fruit Berry Pie

This recipes comes from the cookbook “Recipes from Old Virginia” 1958 The fourth printing was done in 1970 and was a wedding gift to me. Ingredients: 4 to 6 - Tablespoon flour 1 - Cup sugar 1/2 to 1 - Teaspoon of cinnamon (depending on fruit and flavor) 1/4 to 1/2 - Teaspoon of nutmeg (depending on fruit and flavor) 3 - Cups berries 1 - Tablespoon butter 1- Tablespoon lemon juice Directions: Mix all the ingredients except the butter. Let stand 15 to 20 minutes. Pour in an unbaked pie shell, dot with butter and place pie crust on top. Bake 15 minutes in a 425 oven. Turn oven back to 350 and bake another 30 to 45 minutes. This recipe may be used for huckleberries, blueberries, peach, apple, cherry, raspberry.
