Peach Upside- Down French Toast
Description:
Reminiscent of peach upside-down cake, gooey & delicious! Ingredients: 1/2 c. margarine 1.25 c. packed brown sugar 1 T. water 1 (29oz) can sliced peaches 1 loaf unsliced French bread 6 beaten eggs 1.5 c. milk 1 T. vanilla Directions: 1.In small saucepan, melt margarine. Stir in brown sugar and water. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture has thickened. Pour into a well greased 9x13 in baking pan. 2. Drain peaches. Place peach slices on top of sugar mixture. 3. Slice french bread into 1" thick slices. Place bread slices on top of peaches, filling all gaps. 4 Mix eggs, milk and vanilla. Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight. 5. In morning, uncover and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 40 minutes. Cool 5 min. Place serving tray over baking pan and invert. 6. Serve slices garnished with a dollop of sour cream & fresh fruit if desired.
